Non-Social Stinging Insects NOT covered by WASPSURANCE
Some stinging insects are not considered threatening, as they are non-social : generally they do not defend their nest. They usually build small, solitary nests for their brood, and leave the nest undefended. Below are the most common non-social stinging insects.
Mud Daubers : Natural spider control These amazing wasps specialze in catching spiders. They sting and paralyse spiders, laying a single egg on their prey, and depositing these spiders inside their mud nests. Once the female has finished filling her mud nest, she will leave. She will not stick around to defend her nest.
Sand Wasps : Natural garden pest control These amazing wasps specialze in catching many herbivorous insects, including leafhoppers among others.
